Team meetup

This month, we treated our team to an outing in Bristol. Our team are based all around the UK and other areas of Europe so it’s nice to meet up from time to time, our get together involved digital darts at The Flight Club, followed by a trip to Bristol’s best Arcade Bar, NQ64.

Project complete - Infinite Worlds

Our dedicated team also finished a project on behalf of our wonderful client, Infinite Worlds while like us, they are an outsourcing company, they focus on backend development. The team at Infinite Worlds have no in-house 3D artists, so we filled in that gap; we also offered extra support in areas such as Art Direction, Visual Development, Tech Art, and Art Pipelines.

We are always excited and keen to hear from our clients, and Tim Page, Infinite Worlds founder and Games Industry Veteran of 25 years said:

“Meteor Pixel were excellent to work with. We were particularly impressed at how fully they engaged with our project, showing enthusiasm, initiative and flexibility; and going above and beyond in several areas. We definitely recommend them, and they will be our first call for our future outsourcing needs.”

If you need any help generating 3D assets, or even organising art pipelines be sure to get in touch through the contact tab! We strive to not just complete projects to high standards, but also to bring additional value that our clients weren’t expecting!

And now, our new feature! Meteor Pixel is made up of people who are incredibly talented in their respective fields; we endeavour to find and hire people who can lead the way for others. This allows us to have our artists learn from each other, so we will be running an employee spotlight once per month! This month is our incredible artist Pablo Garcia!

Team spotlight

Specialism: Gun art, “Pew pew” expert
Favourite video game: Grim Fandango
Hobbies: Motorcycles, Firearms

We try to help our artists grow, with Pablo this meant giving him the opportunity to work on his texturing. We asked Pablo how he felt his current project was going:

“I've been doing 3D modelling for quite a while now, so I'm very comfortable with hard surface modelling in general, but texturing! That's an art I have not quite mastered yet, so I'm very happy with the results shown here, I consider I pushed my art game a bit further this time, and I plan to keep growing in that area.”

Pablo’s portfolio can be found here, be sure to check it out!

Game Developers Conference

Much of the games industry will be attending the Game Developer Conference this year, several of our clients and friends will be there, however sadly Meteor Pixel will not be attending. However, we will be heading over to Dubrovnik for Reboot Develop Blue in April! Please get in touch to discuss any projects you have coming up, or if you want to learn about what we are doing internally!
